Excellent movie by itself, but I always appreciate the reminders of the high cost of peace and how fragile it is.

Call for investigation into JW child abuse in the Netherlands
by Anders Andersen inafter yesterday's newspaper articles about how jw (mis)handle child abuse cases, today the newspaper reports that both members of the national house of representatives, and the national commissioner on human trafficking and sexual violence against children are petitioning the minister / secretary of state to launch an investigation into jw and other closed religious communities.. the newspaper article (in dutch).
the newspaper also published the personal story of a victim, and how he fought for justice within jw to no avail.this story is from my home town (just few years before i move there), different congregation in the same hall..

Thank you Anders and Redpill. Translation and commentary are appreciated
Oh. I almost forgot. Thank you for the language lesson. I went back and I was able to recognize "Jehovah" at least three times. The "witnesses" part not so well. But it's a start

Is there any humor in the bible?
by Normalfulla inhumor plays a big part in a lot of humanity and we all like a good laugh but as far as i'm aware god's supposed word has no actual humor ,of course apart from being a joke itself ,why wasn't there a passage or something like "jesus farted and giggles broke out among them " or something, is anyone aware of any notations of humor ?
all to.serious really.

"Jehovah is a god of love.. now that's the biggest laugh !!!!"
That's funny, really funny!
What's more funny is how the Bible is interpreted by JW's and other fundamentalists. If it were not for the fact that their interpretation actually hurts and kills people, their comedy would be better than the Monty Python

Sounds good. Actually scratch that. I have no idea what the heck they are saying in the radio. Not one word. Could you give us the gist of it?

You seem to want to believe that Jesus existed. Not much evidence, but most experts believe that he did. Now the important question is, was he divine? For that question the evidence is a big ZERO, but two billion people believe it today. It's a matter of faith, or if I use a synonymous sentence, it's a matter of gullibility. Faith is put in our heads at a time when we are the most gullible, when we are children, so most of us were subject to religious indoctrination and evidence was never offered. Faith, humility, hope, obedience are not virtues. They are tools other humans use to control you.

Snare,
Nice to hear from you again. I know you are busy doing the heavy-lifting to keep humanity healthy, but come back from time to time and inspire us with your story.

McEnroe Puts Serena at About 700 on Men's Tour
by cofty injohn mcenroe was challenged by npr reporter lulu garcia-navarro to amend his comments about serena williams in his new book in which he rates her as the best women's player of all time.
lulu suggested he should not call her the best "women's" player but simply the best player of all time.
mcenroe was taken aback and explained that the men's and women's tours were very different and that serena would be around 700th on in the men's game.

few prayers to Jehovah God, some steroids, and a generous donation to the true religion would move her up to top 100

Orphan crow,
Isn't interesting how the WT disparages higher education, well that is until they need to sound credible.
Amazing how those otherwise smart people can fall for the overlapping generation and other bullshit of the GB. Just amazing!

the loss of lives, the waste of resources provided by hospitals, government, courts and taxpayers. All of it just because people want to live inn the dark, in ignorance. JW's leaders are the ones who should get sued, not the good people who make every effort to save lives, but have to put with the GB bullshit.

Watchtower says: if your unbelieving relatives think you are in a cult, try to see things from their point of view
by cognisonance in12 have empathy for unbelieving relatives.
while we may be overjoyed about the bible truths we have learned, our relatives may mistakenly believe that we have been tricked or have become part of a cult.
we should show empathy by trying to see things from their viewpoint and by listening carefully to discern their real concerns.

It's the 1980's again. Back then, during and after the great purge, "apostates" (R. Franz and COJ) wrote books showing the lies and negative aspects of the JW's. Shortly after (around 1993), damage control gets into action by inoculating the JW's with the Proclaimers book, which "candidly" admits the criticisms in two words and treats them as if they were insignificant errors. This way the JW's could fend off the attacks by saying "I know, I know, the proclaimers book candidly informs us".
So now the apostates and the press are using the word cult when referring to JW's, then damage control decides it's inoculation time again. One caveat, the 1980's were a time when JW's could only find out about the real truth of their own religion through books. Fast forward to 2017 and you have an entirely different ball game. Now information through the internet is instantly accessible to even a two or three year old. No reading or typing skills needed, as long as he/she can say Spiderman into the cell phone, he/she will get Spiderman youtube videos.
